Hurrah, my favourite magazine getting its just acknowledgment for busting the Savile ravel.

* "Former BBC director general Mark Thompson notified about the Jimmy Savile scandal more than seven months before he left the corporation in September.

* Thompson was told about an article in The Oldie by being copied into a chain of emails - released to The Sunday Times under a Freedom of Information request 

... The Oldie story referenced Jim’ll Fix It star Savile’s abuse of children and the dropped Newsnight report in December 2011 ... 

Sent on 8 February, the emails show that Thompson, who is now the chief executive of The New York Times Company, was notified about a Miles Goslett article in The Oldie magazine about the Savile case ...
